1) HMI software Usability Guide
Due to the great importance for software usability Progea has dedicated an indepth study on HMI software usability recently published and on release in a new Guide called "Guide to HMI Software usability principles”.
The company’s intention is to increase design engineer know-how in confronting day-to-day HMI system designing tasks and missions (Man Machine Interface) using Movicon. The new guide draws upon areas in which usability criteria is paramount in system interaction with machine or plant ergonomics.
The Guide deals with scientific studies carried out on user interface usability, above all the number of commands needed for easier comprehension, their type, colour, finishing touches and position within the project, to obtain not only improved usability and efficiency but also to ensure machine or plant safety. Other aspects have also been taken into consideration relating to comfort which covers a range of aesthetic factors linked to form and shape, material elements, surface areas and appearance and colours, captured in a coherent and pleasing ambient responding to industrial, civil and infrastructure system user needs.

2) Pixsys Srl - a new Progea OEM partner
Pixsys srl encapsulates twenty years experience and matured know-how alongside clients with whom they have shared the same path of constant growth. This company is located near Padova and designs and creates instrumentation for process control and industrial automation. From hardware and software development to product assembly line, they are capable of providing complete production process cycle solutions directly on site.
Pixsys recently joined the Progea OEM program, by preparing a product line of HMT touch Panels for WinCE and Windows 7 preinstalled with Movicon HMI runtime.
Thanks to working together with Progea, Pixsys is today capable of supplying open, integrated and powerful HMI solutions.
3) Summer Holidays 2011
Like every year the company will be operating with reduced staff during the Summer period between July and August.
The Sales and Administration offices will be open as usual to take and process orders but shipment of material will be on hold as from MONDAY 8th to FRIDAY 19th August 2011.
Therefore, we would like to advice our distributors to check if they have enough material in stock and if not to order it immediately.
The Technical Support Team will remain in operation for the whole Summer period to guarantee Movicon users all the support they need. However, as traditional in Italy, the week known as 'Ferragosto' which begins MONDAY 15th to FRIDAY 19th August 2011, will see a reduction in support services guaranteeing assistance for emergencies only.
Technical Support and Helpdesk service access are regulated according to Sales procedures defined in the purchase conditions and on the Progea website:

4) Constant Movicon 11.2 improvement
Movicon 11 is a Scada/HMI solution based on extremely innovative and flexible technology for which it is becoming more appreciated and used worldwide. A product of advanced quality and reliability forever being improved by Progea according to direct feedback from millions of users all over the globe.
The latest Movicon 11.2 1084 build available provides numerous minor novelties for major usefulness for developers. Please remember that all users registered as User clients, can log on and access the Progea website “Web Support” section to view lots of useful and precious information, such as examples or the bugbase. The bugbase lists and records all product versions and modifications carried out up till now, such as bug fixes, product novelties, all listed by version.
For example, a command has recently been added to the “Report/Recipe Commands” group which consents the export and sending via e-mail of reports associated to selected DataLoggers/Recipes. E-mails are sent according to the settings defined in the SMTP Plug-In using the "SMTP settings" button, found in the project’s General properties. The e-mail recipient is the user or user group defined in the “Recipient” property.
Or, as another example, you can now acknowledge alarms in projects during phone notifications (Voice Messaging) as well. You can also define whether message acknowledgements should also perform project alarm acknowledgements or not in Alarm Dispatcher Voice plug-ins.
The complete list of inserted novelties is available from the website Support section. When logging in, a link to the Web Support will be made directly available to all those user clients who have explicitly requested this access.
